Beyond Freedom Part 3 – 05: Physical Health

There really is no excuse for being out of shape. Your body is nothing more than a physical manifestation of your mind. Now, with the tools for a powerful, positive mindset, it is time to improve your physical self-image in your subconscious mind. Do that and you’ll take the necessary action to improve your body.

The body’s natural tendency is for health. So it becomes our duty to honor that. Those who are in poor health consistently say that they would trade almost anything they have to get their health back. There is a well-established connection between the mind and the body. Mental and physical health go hand in hand. A fit body is an efficient machine. It serves your confidence and gives you abilities you never knew you had.

What better way to start the day than an easy-to-perform, positive action that benefits your body? Since water is essential to good health, and since most of us don’t drink enough, this simple exercise will kick off your day on the right foot.

EXERCISE

Drink two 8 oz. glasses of water in the morning as soon as you wake up. It is that easy.

Two small glasses of water will hydrate you from your sleep and help prepare your body to better process your morning coffee or tea. As you drink, repeat two short affirmations.

First glass: “One to cleanse the body.” Second glass: “One to clear the mind.”

We’ve all heard the refrain an apple a day keeps the doctor away. In fact, there’s not much in an apple to keep you healthy. It’s the repetition and belief of the rhyme as much as anything in the apple. Dr. Kenneth Pelletier from the Stanford School of Medicine has been studying the connection between mental energy and health. He says you can enormously improve the quality of your life if you’re optimistic and strive not to give into disease. On the other hand, becoming helpless, withdrawn and depressed hastens a person’s deterioration due to illness.

In other words, so much of our physical health is rooted in the mind. So, here’s a two-minute exercise for maintaining your vitality.

EXERCISE

Spend a couple of minutes each day immersing yourself in thoughts of health and strength. Send the thoughts deep into your psyche. Imagine the healing thoughts as a brilliant white light shining into every cell of your body. The light absolutely whitewashes any part of your body that appears in your mind as dark or shadowed. Feel the thoughts of health and light absorbed into your skin, through your bones, throughout your organs, and up and down your central nervous system. Just two minutes each day, visualizing yourself as young, healthy and vibrant will add years of quality living to your life.

If you truly desire to achieve the best physical shape of your life, now is a perfect time. As you start with your 90-day BEYOND FREEDOM journal, you should also know that 90 days is the perfect time frame for a physical transformation. By combining laser focus, proper visualization, consistent physical exercise and good nutrition, you can change your body and mind all at the same time. There will be adversity, but choose not to take your eye off the goal and the adversity will have no power.
