Some men never find prosperity for all their voyaging, while others find it with no voyaging.
– Euripides
Here comes one of the most useful concepts you will encounter on your way to true freedom and independence. It’s called Prosperity Consciousness and it is vital to embrace the concept into your everyday living.
Prosperity Consciousness is a great way to think. It is a freeing method for living our lives. In a lot of ways it’s akin to optimism. See the glass as half-full, instead of half-empty. It’s playing the game to win instead of playing not to lose. Many of us choose the latter. We keep our eye trained behind us, on an encroaching poverty which always seems intent on overtaking our lives. We are haunted by our potential lack of security. Our lack of funds. Our general lack. That is called Poverty Consciousness and it’s all most of us know. By expecting the worst and focusing on an absence of abundance, what do we expect will come our way? More of the same.
We worry about paying the bills. We fret that things are so expensive. We see others doing better than us and we feel inferior. We feel envious. Many of us secretly think that the wealthy are greedy, hoarding the abundance for themselves, causing others like us to scramble and survive on what is left. Does this sound familiar? Well, if it does you must readjust your thinking.
Financial success is absolutely dependent on developing Prosperity Consciousness. Keep your mind focused not on the lack, but on the astonishing abundance which surrounds us all. Notice opportunities presenting themselves where none seemed to previously exist. See life as an exciting adventure bursting with untold rewards. By expecting only the best and focusing on unlimited abundance, what do we expect will come our way? More of the same.
I murmured because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.
– Persian Proverb
Create in your mind an energy of opportunity, a vibration of success and an expectation of prosperity. Now I’m going to say that again. An expectation of prosperity. Expect money to arrive, opportunity to abound and help to be offered. Why not? First of all, you deserve it. Secondly, there’s enough to go around. More than enough.
EXERCISE
During the course of your day today, become aware of abundance. Start by looking around at nature and all that it offers. Count the profusion of stars in the sky until you can no longer keep track. If you live near the ocean, attempt to calculate the grains of sand in a mere handful. Notice the constant and steady stream of waves. If you are from the plains, count the corn stalks in a field, the insects, the birds, the leaves on a tree. In the mountains, notice the number of rocks on the peaks and clouds in the sky. Imagine how many molecules of clean, fresh oxygen are teeming in every single breath you take. Drive through a wealthy neighborhood and observe how many houses are full of wealthy people all feeling the abundance around them. Instead of feelings of envy, we can look on with pride and knowledge that if they can do it, then we can too. Write in your journal about the abundance you’ve discovered. Focus and write about nothing else today but the profusion of riches and wonder you’ve encountered.
Prosperity is a state of mind that goes beyond wealth. With a mind-set of prosperity you might have made choices and decisions in your life that led you forward, instead of held you back. How often have you heard someone marry for money instead of love? Can you imagine settling for less than you deserve, only because you thought that opportunity was the best you would get?
EXERCISE
Create two columns in your journal, in the left comumn, list the choices you have made thus far in your life that have helped define who you are today. They can be decisions on love, career, family or even which car you chose to purchase. Think it through and add anything that resonates, any regrets, any opportunities seized or potentially passed over. Now go over the list item by item, and in the right column make a comment on the decision. Do this with a Prosperity Consciousness. How would you have approached the choices you’ve made if you were focused on abundance rather lack, prosperity rather than poverty?
Start right now by adding prosperity to your deepest belief system. It is imperative to begin right away. We have already learned that beliefs can take up to 90 days to imprint into your subconscious, so do not delay another moment.

Choose three of the following beliefs to impress onto your subconscious mind. Remember to do this every day until they become second nature.
I possess unlimited potential.
My world overflows with neverending abundance. I have talents which deserve to be richly rewarded.
Everywhere I look, new opportunities present themselves. Success comes naturally for me.
There is so much joy in my life.
Just by the very fact that you are here today means you are a success. Life can be harsh to nonproductive entities. Evolution and natural selection reward the prosperous. The world is programmed for success. So, for us to be in sync with the world order, we also have the mandate to be successful. Notice that this isn’t just a choice or desire, but a mandate.
Success is not just a goal, it is our responsibility. The more successful we are the better off all the rest of the world will be. Wealth is more than personal ambition. It’s an allegiance with the natural order of things.
